Ross County’s junior high champions
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — In the Frontier Athletic Conference, all levels below the varsity levels are not recognized as official sports, but in talking to several people in the area, Chillicothe has some outstanding middle school talent coming up in several fall sports. One group that has Cavalier Nation extremely excited is the 8th grade football team. Despite not having an “official” league, they did finish at the top of the FAC.
In the Scioto Valley Conference, the league honors a champion at the 8th grade level. In volleyball, Adena won the regular season and conference tournament. Although not officially recognized by the league, Southeastern’s 7th grade squad won the league. The 7th grade tournament was not held this season.
In football, Unioto was able to complete the league schedule at 6-1. In fairness to Southeastern, the Panthers finished 5-1 with a win over Unioto, but they were unable to complete their season. The Adena Warriors finished their season at 5-1 with their lone loss coming to Unioto. The Southeastern vs Adena game was not played, so the winner would have shared the title with Unioto.
