Providence Pirates second combine update and training camp dates

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Press Release) — The Pirates are set to begin their training camp to complete their inaugural roster for their 2021 team in the coming several weeks. Following the completion of the second combine hosted by the Pirates this past weekend in Johnston RI, the team will look to compile a list of players they will be inviting to their upcoming Training camp, this Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st. Players at the second combine again were put through numerous drills and measurements throughout the day, as well as team exercises and scrimmages. Players from across the region who attended surely did not disappoint the team’s expectations.

“Combine 2 was very successful. We had a great group of players from former college players and professional players. The players worked extremely hard and we are looking forward to training camp this weekend,” Coach Gaffney said when asked about the showing of players at this weekend’s combine. GM Paul Rogers echoed this statement as well, saying “It was great to see so many high-level guys compete for an invitation to our training camp. We had a great mix of guys from all levels of college as well as some with professional experience. We have some hard decisions to make, but really excited to build a training camp roster with Coach Gaffney and our first team”.

In the coming days, the Front Office and coaching staff will look to compile their training camp roster, and the last spots will be filled for the finalized training camp invitees. Please make sure to follow our social media for all upcoming updates in regard to our roster, as we continue to obtain our goal of becoming the best team in the ABA. Thank you to all our fans for the continued support, and we look forward to getting closer to playing on the court and representing the city of Providence!
