The Pirates focused on their first two combines to gather a talent pool from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and had over 60 participants throughout these sessions.
The team then went and invited over 25 individuals to their training camp for the past two weeks. Once again players were put to the test in order to show the organization why they deserved their shot at making it big on one of the biggest stages basketball has to offer!
After taking time this past week to discuss the players skills and attributes to the team, the Pirates Front Office concluded their 2021 inaugural roster and assembled 15 players for the first ever Providence Pirates roster.
Head Coach Mark Gaffney when asked about the finalized team has this to say…“This roster is filled with athletes who have played at every level of college basketball. These players have the combination of speed, size, and basketball play making ability. This along with a collective enthusiastic spirit and love for competition will make it a great group to start building a foundation for success both on and off the basketball court”.
The Pirates are excited to introduce to the community their new players, and will be having an upcoming media day as well for the community to meet everyone. Please follow us on social media to stay up to date with the dates for this, and as always..
