Two Saint James School track and field athletes break records
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Two Saint James School track and field stars are now the best in school history.
Sophomore Connor Owners threw the shot put 47 feet, beating the school’s previous record by over a foot. The record was set by his teammate Lucas Huckabee just two weeks ago. In fact, this is the third time the school record has been broken by one of the two shot putters this season. Before this season the school record was set in 2014 by Michael Robinson. Owens placed second overall at the Homewood Invitational Meet on March 13, 2021.
Senior Kendall Hardaway also broke a school record at the Homewood Invitational Meet. Hardaway’s long jump was 17-6.5. The previous record was set in 2018 by Logan Dean. In addition to her record breaking performance Hardaway placed second overall in both the long and triple jumps.
