Wayland wins first home game at new football field

WAYLAND, Mass. (BVM) — The Wayland Warriors football team took their home field for the first time since 2018. With an over 28-month layoff from their last true home game, the Warriors made sure to unveil their new field with a home win.

Wayland’s 38-7 win over Bedford was the cherry on top of the night’s festivities as the Warriors made sure to jump out to an early lead, closing out the first quarter leading 23-0.

Wayland’s star running back Jaison Tucker led the team’s stat sheet rushing for 185 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. The senior running back has been on a tear to start the early season rushing for 182 yards and four touchdowns in the team’s opening game against Boston Latin and 205 yards and one touchdown almost a week later against North Quincy.

With the 3-0 start to the season, the Wayland Warriors are looking to top their 8-2 record from last season as they set their sights on a Division 4 Super Bowl.
