Hopkinton continues hot start during annual Dig Pink Game
HOPKINTON, Mass. (BVM) — Hopkinton’s hot start to the volleyball season continued against Westwood, as the Hillers cruised to another victory in 3-1 fashion.
In a night featuring a barrage of pink shirts, the Hillers jumped out to an early lead against the Wolverines in the team’s annual Dig Pink Game to benefit the Side-out Foundation. The goal of the annual Dig Pink Game is to raise funds for Side-Out’s stage IV breast cancer research.
The star of the night for the Hillers was junior middle Kate Powers, who recorded 10 kills, five blocks, two aces and six digs. Senior Cassie White would also add her name to the top of the stat sheet recording seven kills, two blocks and two digs.

With the team’s win over Westwood, Hopkinton has jumped out to a 6-1 start on the season, putting them second in the Tri-Valley League. After picking up their first regular-season loss over the past two seasons against Ashland earlier in the season, the Hillers have made sure to make quick work of their last four opponents.
With an impressive 20-2 campaign in 2019, the Hillers are hoping to continue their dominance once again this season.
