Edgewood men’s and women’s lacrosse playing inaugural season
MADISON, Wis. (BVM) — Edgewood College started its first-ever women’s and men’s lacrosse season this year along with men’s volleyball.
It has been an unprecedented endeavor starting the programs while also trying to get back to spring sports after a year hiatus due to COVID. However, both lacrosse teams have been taking it in stride as they build their programs.
Neither team has won yet but will look to change that tonight against Marian.
Although this season has been tough, there is a lot to be excited about for the future. Freshman Avery Bugaj for the men’s team has stepped up for the new team, leading the Eagles in goals and is tied with fellow freshman Blake Stockwell in assists.
On the women’s side, junior Samantha Velander leads Edgewood in goals while sophomore Kendra Sanderfoot and freshman Natalie Skaife lead the team in assists.
Marian enters the game 4-4 on the men’s side and 0-4 on the women’s side.
