Jamrog makes instant impact on Hamilton softball with no-hitter
HAMILTON, Mich. (BVM) — For most athletes, there is usually an adjustment period when it comes to playing sports at the high school level. There might be some nerves, new things to learn and an overall adaptation to the speed of the game.
However, Hamilton High School’s Madie Jamrog defied all of that recently. Jamrog is a freshman softball player for the Hawkeyes, playing shortstop, outfield and pitcher.
In her first-ever game pitching at the high school level, Jamrog threw a complete game no-hitter. The freshman phenom recorded 12 strikeouts in the contest, and also was a star at the plate, going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs.

It was an impressive performance from Jamrog that began a successful doubleheader for the Hawkeyes. After taking game one against Spring Lake, the two teams would do battle once again in another contest that Hamilton dominated.
This time, there would be more scoring action as Hamilton would tally 14 hits in a 12-4 win. Although Jamrog wasn’t on the mound for this one, she continued her success at the plate, once again going 2-for-4 with three runs.
Both the Hawkeyes and Jamrog will look to keep their success going next week when they face Fruitport.
