St. John’s adds big through transfer portal
QUEENS, N.Y. (BVM) — St. John’s is keeping it in-state with its most recent addition through the transfer portal. Fordham big man Joel Soriano announced on Twitter his recent commitment to play for the Red Storm.
The 6-foot-11 Yonkers, N.Y. native will bring a much–needed skill set to a St. John’s team that had lacked a true center. Soriano averaged 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last year for the Rams and was a part of an underwhelming 2-12 Fordham team.

Soriano will join a talented group with the likes of Julian Champagnie (currently in NBA Draft process), Dylan Addae-Wusu and Posh Alexander. The Red Storm will also add incoming freshmen Rafael Pinzon and Drissa Traore, along with the recent addition of Purdue transfer Aaron Wheeler.
After missing out on the NCAA tournament this year, St. John’s is hoping that Soriano will help put its squad back in March Madness after going 16-11 this past season.
