Former Blue Devil Jordan Goldwire heading to Norman

NORMAN, Okla. (BVM) — On Monday, former three-star prospect Jordan Goldwire announced he would be transferring from Duke University to Oklahoma University.

This past season, Goldwire appeared in 24 games and averaged 28.5 minutes. He averaged 5.8 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Those numbers were his best numbers of his career in Durham.

Goldwire will join new head coach Porter Moster, who was hired after Lon Kruger stepped down.

“I want to thank Coach K, the coaching staff and administration for helping me grow, mature and become a better player these last four years and giving me an opportunity to play for one of the greatest programs,” Goldwire said in a press release. “In talking with my family and the coaching staff, I have made the decision to enter my name in the portal as a grad transfer and take advantage of my fifth year. My time at Duke has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I want to thank the Duke family, fans, Cameron Crazies and my teammates for making it so special.”

He chose the Sooners over programs such as BYU, Texas Tech, and Oregon State.

Using his last year of eligibility, Goldwire will look to make an impact when he sets foot in the Lloyd Noble Center next season.
