Eisenhower Eagles and Noble Bears face off in pitching battle

LAWTON, Okla. (BVM) — On Monday, the Lawton Eisenhower Eagles baseball team went head-to-head with one of the top baseball teams in all of Oklahoma, the Noble High School Bears.

Colin Fisher took the mound for the Bears. Just a week prior, Fisher had thrown a no-hitter against Lawton MacArthur. Fisher throws an 84 mph fastball, according to Prep Baseball Report (PBR). He faced off against Eisenhower pitcher Marshon Williams.

Through the first two innings, the scoreboard showed zeros. But in the Eagles’ half of the third inning, two runs came across. Eisenhower would keep the lead until the Bears’ half of the fourth inning.

Williams, who continued to pitch well, kept the Eagles in the game. But the Bears struck back. They brought four runs across home plate as the Eagles defense made three fielding errors. After the devastating fourth inning, the Bears scored four more runs later in the contest.

The game finished with a 7-2 final score, and Noble kept its top spot in District 5A-1.

The Eagles and Bears were supposed to match up on Tuesday, but the game was postponed. Noble currently sits in first place with a district record of 19-4. Eisenhower sits in fourth place with a district record of 14-11.

Eisenhower and Noble are scheduled to meet again April 30.
