Allen Eagles girls wrestling wins first-ever regional title
ALLEN, Texas (BVM) — The Allen boys wrestling team has been one of the most dominant programs in the state. But for the first time ever, the Allen girls wrestling team captured its first-ever regional championship.
The regional tournament was held at Allen High School and the Lady Eagles didn’t disappoint their home supporters.
The Lady Eagles set a program record after scoring 111 total points. The boys team scored 292 points, leading the whole tournament.
The Eagles will be sending 14 total wrestlers to the state tournament. Ten of those wrestlers will be participating in the boys tournament while the Lady Eagles will be sending four. Elina Marined, Tabiah Walwyn-Ton, Jasmine Robinson, and Ester Peters will represent Allen.
