Carrollton Ranchview grad Dayo Odeyingbo ready for the NFL Draft
CARROLLTON, Texas (BVM) — Many dreams will become a reality Thursday as college players hear their name called by an NFL team. Dayo Odeyingbo is hoping that one team will be taking a chance on him.
Odeyingbo played for four years at Vanderbilt University where he stood out as one of the best defensive players to suit up for the Commodores. In those four years he racked up a total of 126 tackles (63 solo tackles), 12 sacks, and one interception.
Days before the Senior Bowl, Odeyingbo actually tore his Achilles, so his stock has taken a bit of a hit. But whoever decides to take a chance on him will be getting one of the best defensive players in the nation.
Forgotten man in 2021 draft is @VandyFootball DT Dayo Odeyingbo. Tore Achilles days before Senior Bowl and still think @dodeyingbo doesn’t get out of Round 2. Unique tools (6051v, 285v, 35 1/4 arm, 86 3/8 wing) & highest ceiling DT in class. Checkout the get-off and coordination. pic.twitter.com/btPwlZQYlk

His name may not be called on the first day of the draft, but look to hear his name called on Friday or Saturday. He’s a special player. And for teams looking to bolster their defense, Odeyingbo could provide that missing spark.
