Georgia Bombers added to ABA expansion
INDIANAPOLIS — The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the Georgia Bombers located in Hinesville, Ga., to its record-setting list of expansion teams for the upcoming season that begins in early November.
“With so many new announcements like Operation Upgrade, ABA Tickets, ABA TV Network and ABA Sales & Marketing, all designed to elevate the ABA to a new level, we have been getting a tremendous amount of interest from teams eager to join the league,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Darrell West and his Georgia Bombers are the latest and already I know he is going to be a great owner on and off the court.”
A former Head Coach at First Presbyterian Christian Academy, Darrell led the team to three final fours and two state championships and was inducted into the Hinesville Hall of Fame. He is currently varsity girls head coach at Faith Baptist Christian Academy.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of the ABA,” added West. “My passion for basketball goes back as far as I can remember and this is a wonderful opportunity to further my basketball career.”
