Justin Smith enters NBA Draft
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (BVM) — In July, the NBA Draft will take place and college basketball stars will see their dreams come true. One of those players who hopes to fulfill those dreams is Arkansas forward Justin Smith.
Smith, who played at Arkansas for one season after he transferred from Indiana University, announced on Sunday that he would be hiring an agent and would begin preparing for the NBA Draft.
“This year was full of challenges for all of us, but I am proud that our team was able to overcome and find so much success, Smith said in a tweet. “History was made, and this team will never be forgotten…It has been a lifelong dream of mine to play professional basketball and after talking to my family and the coaching staff, I have decided to forego my extra year of eligibility. I will begin my professional career by hiring an agent and entering the 2021 NBA Draft.”

After transferring from Indiana, Smith went on to have a career year. He averaged 13.6 points, 1.8 assists, and 7.3 rebounds.
Smith helped the Razorbacks get back to their first Elite Eights since 1995. And along the way, he had some memorable performances, including scoring 12 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in a 72-70 win over Oral Roberts.
With this announcement, Smith joins Moses Moody as the only two Razorbacks to declare for the NBA Draft.
