Madison West boys tennis breaks the top10 in the last state rankings
MADISON, Wis. (BVM) — About a week into the WIAA boys tennis season, the first Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association rankings have come out with two teams from the Big Eight Conference ranked in the top10.
Middleton was ranked second only behind Brookfield East with Madison West ranked ninth. Both teams entered the season, along with Sun Prairie, projected as the top teams in the Big Eight Conference.
The Regents have played well early in the season, beating Jainesville Craig 6-1 on Tuesday, but the real test will come next week when Madison West will face off against Middleton on the road Monday and Tuesday.
With playoffs beginning in early June, the back-to-back matchups with another top10-ranked team will be an important indicator of where the Regents are as they try to get back to the state tournament for the first time since 2017.
