Three Bullitt County cheer teams each bring home national titles

MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. — Bullitt East Cheerleaders are Grand Champions again! This great accomplishment isn’t possible without hard work, devotion, and a group of great girls! But just how did this group of girls accomplish this awesome win?

“I think our willingness to work together as a team and keep positive attitudes played a huge role in our road to becoming National Champions,” said Katelyn Mattingly. “We knew what our end goal was. We knew we had to push ourselves to get there. It all paid off when we heard our name being called for first!” Madison Feading added. Morgan Zirnheld added, “We spent endless hours at practice working hard to perfect our routine!”

But these young ladies couldn’t have won this title without their coaches pushing them to believe in themselves, providing them with a championship routine, and never giving up on the team. Morgan Zirnheld even said, “They gave us their time and effort at practice even on the bad days.” The coaches saw the best in their team and proved it by guiding them straight to another win.

All of this hard work and effort teaches so many things to each girl, like teamwork, leadership, dedication, and first believing that you can accomplish what you set out to do. Oliver Proctor learned to “strive to constantly improve and never settle.” Addison Pruitt says the success that she’s had with cheerleading taught her to “preserver especially through the obstacles of this year.”

The family bond that this cheerleading team has formed will go with them as they continue through life, as will the joy of winning this National Championship. And this group of girls wouldn’t have this bond if it wasn’t for the support of their parents and family putting in the time and showing up for all the performances! Thanks, parents, for helping this team become National Champs again!

This year Bullitt Central is also celebrating a National Championship in their division! This title is no easy feat, but this group of girls was able to earn Bullitt Central’s first National title!

“We came together as a team under any circumstance to make sure we were all working together towards the same goal. Each practice, we came in with the intention of “emptying the tank” to showcase our best performance. We truly set our minds to this is our year. We have come so close each year. THIS IS IT!” Sydney Key said about how the team was able to bring home this title!

Brittany Burton confirms the hard work that went into this win by sharing the lesson she learned from cheerleading is “nothing worth having will come easy.” Emilee Clifford added, “I’ve learned to always push yourself. Your body can take more than you know you can.”

The girls know that they wouldn’t be able to accomplish this achievement without the help of their coaches. Avery Lee said, “[They] pushed me to my best and never gave up on me, held me to a higher standard. All of the girls knew that the coaches had their best interest at heart and strived to make them bond as a family.

The Bullitt Central team knew their support also came from their parents and are grateful for the cheer moms and dads that helped them achieve this historic moment for Bullitt Central! Congratulations, Bullitt Central 2021 Cheerleaders, for bringing home the first National Championship!

Eastside Middle School also earned its sixth consecutive National Championship this year! This is the school’s ninth win overall! Presley Madison tells it straight when she talks about the hard work and countless hours in the gym.

“We became National Champions by…never giving up even when we were tired, and practices seemed endless. You just keep going and keep pushing yourself to get better…[I learned] there is no magic in the uniform. You still have to try and work hard to achieve your goals.” Presley is also grateful for her family, that believed in her when she didn’t believe in herself and will miss her teammates who had become like sisters. “I spend more time with cheer family than I do my own.”

Jill Davis knows that she helped earn this title by “joining a program that had strong leadership. The program allowed me to grow and pushed me further than I thought possible”, which taught her “that with focus and determination I can accomplish great things!” Jill is “so thankful for their leadership” that saw her full potential and wouldn’t settle for anything less.

Bullitt County is so proud of our Cheerleading teams all across the county, from little league to high school cause as you can see, these teams develop leadership, determination, and perseverance even in challenging and difficult times.

Congratulations to all three Cheerleading teams in winning a National Championship Title in 2021!!!
