Warren looking to revamp Martin County volleyball
STUART, Fla. (BVM) — The Martin County High School volleyball team has been stuck in the mud over recent years, struggling to collect wins since its last winning season in 2017-18. However, the athletic department thinks it has found the one to turn it around, and she’s already a certified winner.
Jessica Warren has been brought on as the new head coach, looking to bring with her some of the magic she had at South Fork. Warren was the 2016 Florida Dairy Farmers’ Class 7A and 2016 TCPalm Coach of the Year, concluding that season by winning a state championship.
Warren has been working in the Martin County school district for 14 years, and actually began her coaching career under Stephanie Skidmore, a Martin County High School alumnus. Knowing that she has the students’ interests at heart has been exciting for athletic director Mark Cowles.
“Her philosophy meshes perfectly with what we want here at Martin County and it’s about building relationships and making sure our student-athletes achieve at the highest level possible in the classroom and on the court,” Cowles said in a press release. “It’s a great day for Tiger Volleyball.”
