Senior Annalyse Dickinson leads Clearview High’s golf team

MULLICA HILL, N.J. — The top player on the team this season, Annalyse Dickinson — who played as our #1 all year and helped spearhead a girls golf team — took 3rd place for female individuals at the Gloucester County tournament in Pitman. Annalyse shot a 49, which was tied with both a player from Kingsway and our #2 golfer, Kendal Watermasysk.  All three golfers played in a playoff hole and Annalyse won, which was an awesome accomplishment. Clearview unofficially took 2nd place as a team to Kingsway, finishing eight strokes behind them At the time, the 218 we shot was our lowest cumulative team score for the year.

Overall, the girls have continued to get better all season and have set themselves up for success next year. Last year would have been our first season with a girls program, but COVID cut our season after a week, and we didn’t really get to work on things. That is difficult when you have a lot of young golfers learning the game like we do. Annalyse is our only departing senior, and four of our top six golfers were sophomores or freshmen, led by Kendal Watermasysk, who has been consistently shooting in the 40s for the last few weeks. I’m expecting the program to continue to get better and better.

I’m really proud of how hard the girls worked to set goals for themselves and continuously lower their scores. Golf is a tough mental game, and there can be some lows. I’m really happy that the girls on our team persevered through those lows and came out stronger for it.
