Post-season awards for Satellite HS football

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — Post-season awards for the SHS Football team were plentiful with many players earning a selection on the All-County team, Space Coast All-Star Team, and Florida Today All-Space Coast Team.

Three players earned All-State honors — Gunnar Greenwald, Gabe Betts and Gage Malkin. Head Coach Ted Kimmey earned FACA Independent along with Division II Coach of the Year.

Four 2021 graduates are going on to play at the next level. Gunnar Greenwald signed with USF and graduated early to attend the University for the spring semester. Jake Jacoby signed with Wingate University in North Carolina and Danny Colby signed with LaGrange College in Georgia. Jonah Montanez accepted an appointment to play for the United States Military Academy Prep School at West Point.

Eddie Combs III, class of 2023, has attended multiple camps around the country after earning early college football offers from four of the power five conferences. His offer list includes, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Maryland, West Virginia, USF, FIU and more.

During the Spring Football season annual Red/White Intersquad game, Emme Henkel, a class of 2024 kicker, made the field goal to seal the game for Team Red with a final score of 16-14. Emme is the first female football player in Satellite history and her extra point against the JV match up with Viera was the winning point in the 7-6 contest. She is also a member of the Satellite girls soccer team where she earned MVP for the JV soccer team and plays club soccer for the Beachside Impact.

Congratulations to all the Scorps team players and staff members!
