American Freedom softball teams continue to expand
GOLDEN, Colo. — I would like to introduce the 14u American Freedom Softball Team. I am the proud parent of two talented girls on this team. I grew up in Applewood and my parents still live here. My goal, to get competitive sports into the Applewood area again.
This amazing set of girls took 1st place in a tournament this year and will soon be heading to nationals in Utah. Covid definitely took a big hit on us last year and the girls have had to work extra hard this season to make up for last. My daughters are looking to take softball to the next level by playing high school ball and looking to aim for a scholarship to college.
After this year we decided it’s time to start our own new team based out of Applewood. We plan to take this new 16u team to nationals in Florida. It takes a lot of time and energy to have a successful team these days because the competition is so fierce. As a team, our goals are to give as many girls a chance at competing as possible. We are always looking to better ourselves and these girls though their love of softball.
If anyone is looking to take the next step into competitive softball or looking to get involved with helping the girls, please email the team manager, Brittany Horton, at [email protected] or call her at (303) 562-4215.
