Q: What do you love about your sport?
A: Rowan — I love karate because the sport is challenging.

Q: What has being a member of a team taught you?
A: Dorian — Being part of a team has taught me that communication is important.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?
A: Dorian — The best advice I’ve received has been to focus on a spot on the wall when you are trying to concentrate.
A: Rowan — The best advice was to put maximum effort into what you are currently doing in order to improve.

Q: What is your favourite snack food?
A: Dorian — My favourite snack food is tea with rusks.
A: Rowan — My favourite snack food is a baguette with ham and cheese.

Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
A: Dorian — Karate is fun and a good sport to participate in because it keeps you fit. At karate, we learn to put maximum effort in all endeavours, be humble and kind, and not to whine.
A: Rowan — Karate makes it easier to have stamina while running, which also helps with other sports.
