INDIALANTIC, Fla. — Eight-year-olds, David LeGros and Olivia Corcoran both of Indialantic have only been ballroom dance partners for nine months but are already taking the ballroom dance competition world by storm.

Olivia started taking Ballet and Ballroom dance at the age of five at We Dance Academies. Originally Olivia was only enrolled in ballet, but she decided to also take ballroom class after watching other children dance and have fun.

David originally started dancing for Melbourne City Ballet Theatre and was a Cupid in Sleeping Beauty in 2018 and a Black Swan in Swan Lake in 2019.  He loved dancing on the King Center Stage for both ballets and wanted to continue performing.

David and Olivia take ballroom dancing lessons at We Dance Academies, 3 days a week under the direction of Ms. Ekaterina Vaganova-Yachmennikova and Ms. Nadezhda Rudovich.

“Ms. Katia and Ms. Nadia are instrumental to David and Olivia’s success. David and Olivia truly love ballroom dancing in large part to their excellent tutelage.  Ms. Katia and Ms. Nadia have been so wonderful for these children, not only through superior training, but by helping them find their passion for dance,” remarked David’s mom, Denise. Ballroom dancing helps David and Olivia to do better at school and provides mental health, stress release, and discipline that dance education teaches.

Olivia and David competed in the Miami Vibe Dancesport Competition held on April 24th at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in the Latin Newcomer division and won 12 first place finishes including the Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive.  They also competed at the Millennium Dancesport Nationals in Orlando on June 26th and took 4 first place finishes. These competitive, pint size cuties not only love to entertain but also to win!
