6U CD Panthers win the early battle against the 5 Star Cougars
SEATTLE — The game started with 5 Star taking the lead, on a touchdown run by Jonathan Sisk. However, the lead was not a safe one at any point during the constant thriller as the Panthers’ Tre’Shaun Edwards scored to tie the game at end the first quarter.
Both the teams were playing so close with each other, and the second quarter started with CD’s Dhani Newton rushing in a touchdown. However, Sisk and the Cougars responded immediately as he made his way and scored for 5 Star. At every point, none of the players were losing hope, and they were trying to perform best for their team. It appeared it was going to be a tie between both teams heading into the break, but just before the second quarter ended, Edwards took a 40-yard carry into the endzone to go up 18-12.
During the second half, again, the same situation was seen between Newton and Sisk where Newton extended the lead by another score, but Sisk came back again. A 40-yard touchdown rush by Sisk closed the gap, but another answer by the Panthers kept the game out of reach as the Panther won 30-18. Sisk produced a hard-fought battle during the contest, and it was apparent how he was trying. Although he lost, his effort was mind-blowing.
CD Panthers head coach Sharif said after the game, “It just feels good to get a victory. These boys work so hard all week, and it’s good to see them finally put it together for the whole game. Last week it was just a couple of plays here and there. But we played good both halves, so I am proud of these kids.”
