Could ‘Prime Time’ be heading to USC?
JACKSON, Miss. (BVM) — After firing Clay Helton, the USC Trojans are in the market for a new head coach, and one name to be on the lookout for as a Tojans fan is current Jackson State head football coach Deion Sanders.
Mike Bohn has to get this right for @USC_Athletics! It is very important for the health of CFB that @USC_FB return to a level of prominence more in line with their history. pic.twitter.com/TixzwjE0eT

A respected NFL Player, Deion Sanders took over head coaching duties for HBCU Jackson State in 2020 and he is already off to a successful start accumulating an overall record of 6-3. His earlier success could be attracting the attention of bigger colleges.
But, this isn’t the first time that coach Sanders’ name has been mentioned in a coaching search. Back in November 2019, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that Sanders was in the running to be hired by his alma mater, Florida State.
NFL Network analyst and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has emerged as a candidate for the Florida St. head coaching job, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. A fascinating situation that could unfold.

That obviously didn’t happen and now some are wondering if that was Florida State’s correct decision.
Do you think Florida State regrets not hiring @DeionSanders yet?

But now with this prominent job open, who knows what could happen. No one has confirmed if Sanders is being targeted for the job, but if he were to take the job, USC and Sanders could bring the Trojans back to the top of the college football world.
