Monroe College women’s volleyball reach 14 wins in streak
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The Monroe College Mustangs women’s volleyball team continued their winning streak in a 3-0 win against Florida State College on Wednesday.
It’s their sixth 3-0 win in a row and their 14th win in a row overall. Monroe has dominated their opposition, starting their winning streak back in August with a 3-1 win against Indian River State. Their first win came right after a 3-0 loss to Daytona State.
Since then, the Mustangs have only dropped five sets in a total of 47. They kept their opponent to single-digit scores in nine of their 47 sets as well.
The performance has matched the 2019 Mustangs’ 14-win streak. Monroe’s play this season is on course to surpass that streak and become the best winning streak in recent time. The 2019 and 2021 seasons have seen Monroe’s best play in the last five seasons. However, it will take some of the best performances they can put up if they hope to touch their 2015 record of a 31-win streak.
The Mustangs take on Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa, Fla. on Friday, where they hope to continue their win streak.
