The Mendham Minutemen girls soccer team are favorites to win the Morris County title
MENDHAM, N.J. — The Mendham Minutemen girls soccer team has had immense success and a great start to the year. This team doesn’t seem to be slowing down whatsoever and is looking nearly impossible to beat at the moment.
The defense of this team is nearly impenetrable and the energy and tenacity these girls play with makes them even tougher oppositions. They displayed how good their defense can be against the Montclair and Scotch Plains-Fanwood games. Outside of their game where they allowed three goals to Morris Knolls, this defense has yet to allow another goal throughout the entirety of the season, per NJ.com.
Star goalie junior Sonja Zeepvat has defended five straight shutouts as the anchor and soul of that defense. The scoring overall has been balanced and reciprocated that defensive effort put up by these girls. These are the ingredients in which it seems nearly impossible to defeat these girls.
This team also seems to only improve every game which is something hard to gauge for opponents. At the moment, it is safe to say the Minutemen is in the driver’s seat to take it all in the Morris County tournament.
