Daniel McReynolds excited to jet off to play soccer at TOVO Academy Barcelona

ELLENSBURG. Wash. — I want to give A BIG shout-out to Daniel McReynolds as he travels abroad to continue his dedication to learning and developing the game of soccer (which the rest of the world refers to as football). Daniel has played soccer for as long as he can remember and currently plays with the WPL Surf Academy and ISC Gunners club team, a considerable commitment. They practice three times a week in Issaquah with games on the weekends and national tournaments throughout the year. And now he has been accepted to play at the TOVO Academy in Sitges, Spain. What an amazing opportunity!

His trip starts December 29, where he and his dad, Dave McReynolds, will fly into Barcelona, Spain. Together they will enjoy the sites before the official start date of the academy, January 3, 2022 and goes to the end of the month. How does one get an opportunity like this? Daniel explored his international options and decided to apply to TOVO Academy, and he was accepted!

TOVO is a residential academy that focuses on development on and off the soccer field. They work with the intellectual capacity of the athletes, teaching them the “why” behind what they are doing and the “how” to execute solutions, so at the end of the day, they are better players.

When I asked Daniel what he was looking forward to the most, this is what he had to say, “I am looking forward to meeting all the athletes that will be attending, developing a new mindset and abilities, as well as the many cultural activities we will be participating in and collectively learning Spanish while we are there.” When I further asked; what he hopes to gain from this experience, “I hope to develop my abilities to help me on my collegiate soccer journey. Also, I hope to gain a new perspective on the game as well as the cultures and their lifestyles.”
