What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Owens: When I’m put in as goalie, there’s a lot of pressure. When someone is going one-on-one with you, it’s scary.

What was the best advice you were ever given from your coach?
Owens: We’re better than this team and we can win – I know you can do it!

Do you have a saying or motto that you like to live by?
Owens: Girls can do anything boys can do – and even better!

What do you love about your sport?
Owens: I love playing as part of a team and I’ve made a lot of new friends. I always get a lot of exercise and my coaches make it fun!

Do you play in university? If not, would you like to?
Owens: Yes, I’d love to play university soccer!

Where do you go to school?
Owens: Carisbrooke Elementary

What do you like to do outside of your sport?
Owens: I do a lot of beading and I just started my own necklace business: Jayda’s Jazzed up Jewelry.

How would you describe your personality?
Owens: Strong, confident, funny.

What is your favourite snack food?
Owens: Takis and cheese. I like eating them together.

What is your favourite song?
Owens: “Careless Whisper” by George Michael.

Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?
Owens: Sometimes I meditate or just sit down and close my eyes. My Dad gives me advice before the game like shoot if you have a chance and keep your eye on the ball.

What has being a member of a team taught you?
Owens: It’s taught me that it’s better – and more fun – to work together to achieve something.
