Talan Staggs rides dirt bikes with skill and spirit

FAIR OAKS, Calif. — Since age four, Talan Staggs has been riding dirt bikes and started racing competitively all at the young age of seven.

“Riding a dirt bike is the most fun thing I’ve ever done. I have tried playing other sports like baseball, basketball, soccer, and nothing compares,” Talan says.

He has qualified for Loretta Lynn’s three times; Loretta Lynn’s is Tennessee’s largest amateur dirt bike race in the US. Talan competed against the fastest 42 kids in the nation; way to go Talan! He had also competed on live TV when he was awarded third place for the KTM Junior challenge at age eight. He looks up to famous riders Ken Roczen, James Stewart, and Jett Lawrence and hopes this sport will take him to be the best one day.

“I have learned that you can push your body a lot farther than you ever thought you could. This sport has made me very tough physically and mentally,” Talan said.

Off the track, Talan is a straight-A seventh-grade student taking a full load of honors courses. He applies himself in everything he does and loves living life to the fullest here in Fair Oaks.
