Meet 11-year-old level 8 gymnast Tynleigh Grossweiler

RALEIGH, N.C. — Meet 11-year-old gymnast Tynleigh Grossweiler. She is in Tumbling and Trampoline at eNeRGy Kidz. She is in Grade 5 at Heritage Elementary School. She also enjoys reading, socializing with friends, taking dance classes, and spending time with her family.

Her dream as a gymnast is to be a National Champion. She has been the State Champion numerous times for her age and level. While being a gymnast takes a lot of hard work and dedication, she says that being confident while having fun is most important.

When asked about the most important lesson she has learned, she shared that getting over mental blocks is challenging. Tynleigh expounds, “Mentally; you need be tough to overcome your fears because the skills are tricky and sometimes scary. You cannot overthink what you are doing. You need to trust yourself and be confident in your ability.” Tynleigh continues, “I had to compete while facing my mental blocks, so there have been mess-ups over the years. The best thing to do is get back in the gym afterward. Forget about it and move on!”

Tynleigh would like to conclude with, “Tumbling and trampoline is an individual sport, but we are a team. We encourage and push one another to be better.”
