Youth swimmer Clara Lacy is making waves at Metroplex Aquatics

LUCAS, Texas — Clara Lacy is an up-and-coming swimmer who has started making waves. She is a member of the competition team at Metroplex Aquatics. With some w’s in the win column, Clara is proving she is as smart in the pool as she is out of it.

She has already created a list of goals and specializes in the breaststroke while she enjoys sprinting in the 100-meter individual medley (IM).

“Moving up in levels for swimming, getting better times at every meet, and working to get better, faster, stronger,” Clara listed as her main goals right now.

One of the challenges Clara has experienced is adding time in one of her events. To overcome that issue, she worked harder, swam smarter, knowing that her hard work would pay off at her next meet. One of the best pieces of advice she received has been:

“To not worry about anything in the water when swimming at an event,” Clara said. “Just go as fast as you can, and have fun while doing it.”

Her goals for the future include being able to swim in college and qualify for the Olympics.

When Clara is not swimming, she enjoys being outdoors, hanging out with her friends, and playing with her dogs.  She lives by the motto “God is always there for you, and He has a plan for you.”
