RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Tony DeAngelo had a goal and two assists against his former team as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Rangers 6-3 on Friday night.

Sebastian Aho also had a goal and two assists, while Vincent Trocheck, Seth Jarvis, Jesper Fast — another former Ranger — and Nino Niederreiter also scored in the first meeting of the season between the top two teams in the Metropolitan Division. Teuvo Teravainen and Andrei Svechnikov had two assists apiece, and Frederik Andersen stopped 20 shots in Carolina’s third straight win.

Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider each had a power-play goal and an assist for the Rangers. Greg McKegg, an ex-Hurricanes player, got his first goal of the season. Alexander Georgiev, playing for the first time in more than a week, made 29 saves.

Since they were shut out for the first time this season Jan. 13 by Columbus, the Hurricanes have totaled 17 goals in three games. That matches the team’s best goal production in a three-game span this season.

PENGUINS 5, BLUE JACKETS 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Sidney Crosby notched his 15th career hat trick and added an assist to lead Pittsburgh to its fourth straight win.

Brian Dumoulin had a goal and two assists, Mike Matheson added a goal and an assist, and Bryan Rust had two assists for the Penguins, who have won 15 of its last 17 games.

Casey DeSmith stopped 10 shots in the first period before being pulled and replaced in the second by Tristan Jarry, who stopped all 15 shots he faced.

Gus Nyquist and Boone Jenner scored for the Blue Jackets, who have lost four of their last five home games. Joonas Korpisalo had 26 saves.

ISLANDERS 4, COYOTES 0

NEW YORK (AP) — Ilya Sorokin stopped 17 shots for his fourth shutout of the season, Brock Nelson scored twice and New York got its third straight win.

Scott Mayfield had a goal and an assist, and Austin Czarnik also scored to help the Islanders win for the seventh time in nine games (7-1-1). Sorokin, who has seven career shutouts, got his sixth win in his last eight starts and has only allowed 15 goals over that stretch. The 26-year-old goaltender is 11-7-5 in his second NHL season.

Scott Wedgewood finished with 31 saves but the Coyotes snapped a two-game winning streak in the second of a four-game trip. Arizona failed to score in both meetings against New York this season, losing 3-0 at home on Oct. 23.

STARS 5, RED WINGS 4, OT

DETROIT (AP) — Roope Hintz scored a power-play goal at 2:51 of overtime to lift Dallas.

It was the second win in a row for the Stars, who rallied from a one-goal deficit late in the third period to send it to the extra period.

After Tyler Bertuzzi gave the Red Wings a 4-3 lead with a power-play goal with 6:14 left in regulation, Jason Robertson tied it for the Stars with 1:13 remaining.

Ryan Suter, Joel Kiviranta and Esa Lindell also scored for Dallas, which outshot Detroit 31-28. Braden Holtby made 24 saves and improved to 9-0-2 in his last 11 starts against Detroit.

Robby Fabbri, Pius Suter and Dylan Larkin had the other goals for the Red Wings, whose modest two-game winning streak came to an end.

WILD 5, BLACKHAWKS 1

CHICAGO (AP) — Ryan Hartman scored twice, Marcus Foligno had a goal and an assist, and Minnesota won for the fourth time in five games.

Calen Addison and Brandon Duhaime also had goals for the Wild.

Kappa Kahkonen stopped 35 shots for Minnesota, but didn’t face many difficult challenges beyond Dylan Strome’s goal with 5:03 to play. He was at his best while turning back Kirby Dach’s difficult wrist shot and Alex DeBrincat’s close-in drive, which he gloved, six minutes into the third period.

The Blackhawks dropped their second straight after winning four in a row.

DUCKS 5, LIGHTNING 1

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Derek Grant scored two goals, John Gibson made 32 saves and Anaheim emphatically snapped a four-game losing streak.

Kevin Shattenkirk and Vinni Lettieri had a goal and an assist apiece, and Nicolas Deslauriers added a short-handed, empty-netter for the Ducks with 7:37 to play. Anaheim reclaimed sole possession of second place in the Pacific Division by routing the overall NHL co-leaders for only its third win in 12 games.

Ross Colton scored and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 30 shots for the Lightning, whose four-game winning streak ended in the teams’ first meeting since Jan. 31, 2020.

Tampa Bay’s Corey Perry got several standing ovations in his first game in Anaheim since the Ducks bought out his contract in 2019. The 2011 NHL MVP spent his first 14 seasons in Orange County, scoring 372 goals and winning the Stanley Cup in 2007 while becoming a franchise cornerstone alongside longtime linemate Ryan Getzlaf.

BLUES 5, KRAKEN 0

SEATTLE (AP) — Ville Husso stopped 27 shots, Tyler Bozak scored shot-handed and St. Louis beat Seattle.

The Blues have won two straight and five of six. Bozak and Brayden Schenn scored in the first period, and Pavel Buchnevich, Colton Parayko and Jordan Kyrou scored in the third. Parayko’s goal came on a penalty shot.

The Kraken were shut out for the second time this season and ended a two-game winning streak. Joey Daccord had 26 saves.

PANTHERS 2, CANUCKS 1, SO

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Aleksander Barkov scored the deciding goal in the shootout and Florida beat Vancouver.

Sam Reinhart scored in regulation for Florida, and Spencer Knight stopped 27 shots in the win. The Panthers are 10-1-1 in their last 12 games.

Alex Chiasson scored in the first period for Vancouver. Spencer Martin, making his fourth NHL start and first in nearly five years with Thatcher Demko and Jaroslav Halak in COVID-19 protocols, had 33 saves.

Brock Boeser scored for Vancouver in the first round of the tiebreaker and Anton Lundell tied it for Florida in the second round.
