DOTHAN, Ala. — The Dothan High Lady Wolves entered the 7A Area 3 tournament as the total underdog. In fact, they were seeded fourth. But, they walked away with the area championship title.
The Wolves began their winning ways in the tournament by defeating #1 seed and host team, Enterprise, by a score of 46-36. Charisma Doss was instrumental in the win over Enterprise. Last Thursday night, they played #3 seed Prattville and outscored them 45-42 to win the tournament. Jayla Franklin scored 17 points and Amiyah Rollins had 12. Rollins has been the top performer in steals and points for the season averaging 19 points per game.
“I believe we defeated Enterprise and Prattville because we had several good days of preparation,” Coach Dishon Benjamin said.
The Wolves move on the Southeast Regional Tournament at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery. They will play Central of Phenix City on Wednesday, February 15 at 9:00am.
