Riley Doerr skies across the country
MEQUON, Wis. — When you are a ski racer in the Midwest, you have to chase the snow and the opportunities. Traveling most weekends December through March to put your training to the test with a few 45 second race runs, there is no room for error. Things sometimes don’t go as planned, but this year was a great season for Riley Doerr.
After a 3-day Central Region Qualifier race at Blackjack in Ironwood, Michigan, Riley Doerr was able to secure a spot at the U14 Rocky/Central Championships out in Vail, Colorado. The 5-day event with over 90 female racers brought together some amazing talent. A 7th and 9th place finish in Vail in Slalom and Panel Slalom duals helped her clinch an invitation to the U14 Can Am Race in Sunday River, Maine, bringing together top Canadian and American racers.
So, after this, what are Riley’s goals for next year? Well, ski faster, of course!
