The Husson University softball team fell just short of advancing to the Amherst Regional championship round in their first try after a 3-2 defeat to No. 9 Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon at Amherst Softball Field. With the loss, the Eagles will play at around 4:30 p.m. today versus the winner of the Amherst vs. Rochester game with the second spot in the championship round on the line and a potential rematch with the Marlins.
