Williamsburg Senior Softball League in full swing

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — This season’s Williamsburg Senior Softball League is in full swing. The coed league, which is open to men 50 and older and women 40 and older, plays at the Quarterpath Recreation Center in Williamsburg on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Williamsburg Senior Softball League began in 2019 with four teams and 34 players. Today, there are more than 100 members on seven teams who play a 32-game season.

“The benefits of joining the league include an opportunity to play softball again,” says board member Dick Hoell. “The majority of our players have not played competitive softball in 30, 40, even 50 years, and have loved the opportunity to get back on the field again. There’s also the camaraderie of being with other senior players as both teammates with those on the same team and also other members of the league. It’s also an opportunity to get some exercise while playing the game we love.”
