GULF SHORES, Ala. – Shimales Abebe from Oklahoma City University came away with the 3,000-meter steeplechase national crown in the NAIA men’s outdoor championships Friday at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. Abebe, a sophomore from Los Angeles, earned two all-American honors in the meet, snaring fifth place in the 5,000 meters. The Stars posted a 15th-place finish in the team standings while accumulating seven all-American accolades.
