Russia Raiders win first state baseball title in over 50 years
AKRON, Ohio — The Russia Raiders won their first state baseball title since 1971 with a win of 10-4 over West Lincolnview. Russia (25-6) took the State Title on Saturday June 11, 2022 at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio after a 51 year drought.
Russia Raiders makes the 3rd Shelby County League to win multiple state titles. The Fort Loramie Redskins won championships in 2007, 2010 and 2018. The Anna Rockets won in 1972 and 1980.
It seems the Shelby County League seems to be doing something right with all the talented athletes in the area.
