Extra Special People (ESP) creates Miracle League to play without limitations
WATKINSVILLE, Ga. — In 2018, our beloved ESP (Extra Special People) shared a dream with the community. The goal was to provide a top-notch Miracle League facility. This dream has now become a reality after four years of love, sweat, and tears (of joy).
The Miracle League is a national organization that allows opportunities for all kids to enjoy being active without any type of limitation. ESP teams play baseball on the newly designed rubber turf field, and the playground is like no other! The entire community is invited to enjoy it.
Miracle League held their first-ever game on June 6th. We could not wait to participate in this event. My daughter, Reynolds, and I got to experience it firsthand. Crowds of people were chanting and cheering for the players. There were smiles everywhere in the crowd. People visited the food trucks, kids ran and climbed all over the new playground equipment, and children felt like they were flying high while on the swings. Camera flashes never stopped. It was an evening to never forget.
During the event, our community was able to witness the first-ever universally accessible baseball game, and memories were created to last a lifetime. To savor those memories, you can check out the Miracle League clip that was aired on NBC by visiting ESP’s website or social media sites.
