AGOURA HILLS, Calif. (BVM) – Texas Tech assistant football coach Kirk Bryant was selected by Gabby Windey during Episode 3 (aired July 25) of “The Bachelorette.” Out of a pool of just over 20 men to start the week, he received Gabby’s seventh rose out of the nine that she was given to hand out. The goal for the week was to get picked by one of the two bachelorettes, so Texas Tech football got in on the fun once he was selected.
The Texas Tech football Twitter account edited Bryant’s face over a photo of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes holding up a Super Bowl trophy. The post reads: “And with the next pick in the Fantasy Bachelorette Draft, Gabby selects…,”

Bryant, who recently turned 30, will compete against the eight other men for Gabby’s heart in next week’s episode and will no longer try to impress the other bachelorette, Rachel. Gabby is a 31-year-old ICU nurse from Denver and a former Denver Broncos cheerleader.
Fans next week are hoping to see more of Bryant on the reality TV dating show. Aside from his entrance in the premiere, ABC has yet to air him talking to either of the leading ladies. Fans have seen so little up until now that no one could have surely predicted on their brackets who Bryant would end up dating. It would be interesting to see how Texas Tech head football coach Joey McGuire has filled out his bracket.

Bryant did get a small share of screen time in Episode 3, but it was only fitting considering his dedication to impress. During what was the largest group date in “The Bachelorette” history – which Bryant referred to as “game day” – he and 18 other men participated in a costume photo shoot. Bryant uniquely wore a full-body cast and the funny memes on Twitter ignited.

“I’m just trying to heal up for football season,” Bryant wrote in his Instagram post following the show.
After the group date capped off at SoFi Stadium, Bryant received Gabby’s rose, so he’s set to continue his journey towards love next Monday night at 8/7c. To read about Kirk Byrant’s journey on “The Bachelorette” in previous episodes, click here.
