8. Steve Walsh, QB, Cretin-Derham
Walsh is one of the many professional athletes to come out of Cretin-Derham High School. The former Raider was one of the top high school prospects in the nation while at Cretin-Derham. Walsh would go to the University of Miami to continue his career and would lead the Hurricanes to a national championship. He has been inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Miami Football Ring of Honor. After Miami, Walsh was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the second overall pick in the first round of the 1989 NFL Supplemental Draft. He spent one year with the Cowboys before being traded to the New Orleans Saints and helping the Saints make it to the playoffs in 1990. Walsh would make another trip to the playoffs with the Chicago Bears in 1994. The quarterback would continue playing in the league until his final season with the Indianapolis Colts in 1999. He finished his career with a 20-18 record and 7,875 passing yards.
