FIFA 23 ratings: The 10 best players in this year’s game

FIFA 23’s official release date will be on Sept. 30, but if you purchase the ultimate edition of the game, you will be able to play it on Sept. 27.
While it is still a couple of weeks away, EA Sports has released a vast majority of player ratings for players to get excited in the meantime.
Here are the top 10 players in this year’s version of the game:
10. Manuel Neuer, GK, Bayern Munich, 90 overall
The 36-year-old German goalkeeper has consistently been one of the premier goalies in the world and he still performs to that level despite his age. Neuer’s attributes are highlighted by a 91 rating for kicking and positioning.
9. Thibaut Courtois, GK, Real Madrid, 90 overall
The Belgian goalkeeper is coming off a strong season, highlighted by his performance during the Champions League Final. The 30-year-old has a 90 rating for his reflexes, well-deserving for a world-class keeper.
8. Cristiano Ronaldo, ST, Manchester United, 90 overall
Despite the uncertainty around his future, there is no denying that the Portuguese striker is still one of the world’s best. He finished third in the Premier League last season with 18 goals. The 37-year-old has a 95 rating for positioning, composure and jumping.
7. Virgil Van Dijk, CB, Liverpool, 90 overall
There are not too many defenders that are more physically intimidating than Van Dijk. Standing at 6-foot-4, 203 pounds, the 31-year-old Hollander has made a living out muscling forwards. His attributes are highlighted by a 93 strength rating.
6. Mohamed Salah, RW, Liverpool, 90 overall
One of the world’s most dynamic forwards once again is near the top of the ratings on this year’s game. The left-footed Egyptian winger shared the Premier League’s Golden Boot with Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son. Salah’s offensive attributes are some of the best in the game, capped off with a 93 finishing rating
5. Lionel Messi, RW, PSG, 91 overall
The 35-year-old Argentinian winger will likely be one of the best players on FIFA until the day he retires. And deservingly so. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has a 96 composure rating along with a 95 rating for balance and dribbling.
4. Kevin De Bruyne, CM, Manchester City, 91 overall
The Belgian midfielder has been the best player on one of the world’s best teams for some time now. And his FIFA rating reflects that. De Bruyne is arguably the best passer on the planet with his 94 vision and crossing ratings.
3. Kylian Mbappe, ST, PSG, 91 overall
For the third year in a row, the 24-year-old graces the cover of the game. The French striker is arguably the most valuable asset throughout any league. He’s an all-around great player, but his game is highlighted by his 97 acceleration and sprint speed.
2. Robert Lewandowski, ST, Barcelona, 91 overall
It is still a bit odd to not see the Polish striker in the Bundesliga this season, however, it is very familiar to see him amongst the top players on FIFA. Arguably the best in the world at his position, Lewandowski has a 94 positioning and finishing rating.
1. Karim Benzema, ST, Real Madrid, 91 overall
Many questioned how much Benzema had left in the tank before last season, but he proved the doubters wrong with 27 goals in La Liga. He is one of the most clinical finishers in the game with a 92 positioning and reactions rating.
