Portland, Ore. – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced that they have reassigned 16-year-old goaltender Luke Brunen to the Warman Wildcats U18 program in the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL). Brunen, selected 36th overall by the Winterhawks in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, appeared in three preseason games with the Hawks this month and stopped 35 of the 45 shots he faced against Seattle, Everett and Spokane.
