CHICAGO – Senior linebacker Joey Markasovic (New Lenox, Ill./Providence Catholic) was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week for the Saint Xavier University football team (2-2, 0-0 MSFA Midwest) when the awards were announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Markasovic had a career night for the Cougars last Saturday evening, racking up a career-high 16 tackles to help led SXU to a 25-20 upset road victory over No. 16 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Ind.
