Matt Whelan helped the Panthers to a pair of weekend wins and has been named the GLIAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The Cork, Ireland native scored twice in DU’s 4-0 win on Friday at St. Cloud State and then assisted on two goals in DU’s 3-2 win at Upper Iowa on Sunday. Whelan’s multiple-goal game on Friday was the ninth of his career. He now has five total goals this season and tallied his first two assists of the season.
