PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Butler women’s soccer team secured its first BIG EAST win of the season on Thursday, defeating Providence by the score of 2-1. The Bulldogs (4-6-1, 1-2-0 BIG EAST) scored one first-half goal and added another in the middle of the second before finally conceding one to the Friars (3-6-1, 1-1-0) on a corner kick late in the match.
