Under Shildt, the St. Louis Cardinals made it to the postseason three straight seasons and recorded 211 total wins. And when he was fired, one could see how the decision would shock Shildt. Shildt quickly found another job with the San Diego Padres. After three successful seasons with the Cardinals, Shildt should be in the running for the Royals’ position.
