Coyotes to have Goodwill logo on helmets; Top NHL helmet ads

PHOENIX (BVM) – The Arizona Coyotes will wear helmets with the Goodwill logo for all home games and practices starting with the 2022-23 NHL season. The multi-year partnership with the donated clothing and discounted household goods store has Coyotes fans begging for it to be a joke, while NHL fans had a heyday making “poverty franchise” jokes about the NHL’s least valuable team

In honor of the Coyotes’ Goodwill-sponsored helmets, here are the top 5 NHL helmet ads that previously had the internet doing a double take.

5. Toronto Maple Leafs – Scotiabank

The Maple Leafs may be one of the most profitable teams in the NHL, but that didn’t stop them from sinking low enough in accepting a rival-colored, red advertisement on their helmets.

4. Dallas Stars – 7-Eleven

The Stars had the 7-Eleven logo on their helmets and fans found the convenience store ad to be a bit tacky.

3. Toronto Maple Leafs – TikTok

The Maple Leafs donned the TikTok logo on their helmets and NHL fans poked fun at the partnership with what was still widely considered a dancing app for teens.

2. Chicago Blackhawks – Belle Tire

The Chicago Blackhawks had the Belle Tire logo on their helmets for the 2021-22 season. The smiling cartoon of a tire mascot looked a bit odd on a group of grown men playing professional hockey.

1. Pittsburgh Penguins – PPG Paints

The Pittsburgh Penguins had the PPG Paints logo on their helmets and the decal could win most hideous as it was just big, blocky and blue.
