The Avalanche signed 2012 No. 3 overall draft pick Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year deal through the remainder of the 2022-23 season Monday. After receiving a professional tryout from Colorado, Galchenyuk suffered a knee injury during training camp and returned to his home in Arizona to recover for several weeks.
